vintage playing cards

i know i’m on a vintage kick right now, but as the old addage goes, the don’t make ‘em like they used to. check out these sweet vintage playing cards (click header) i found at newt’s cards. newt’s cards has the following to say about these:

This deck of Vintage playing cards entitled Floral Tea Carts Playing Cards were manufactured by the Whitman or Western Publishing Co, Racine, WIS. circa mid 1900s (My guess is 1950-1965). The Internal Rev. Stamp still remains and has a bold “1″ in the middle of it. The box and cards are well used but still in great condition. The Ace of Spades has the following number sequence (6402A–33A). The Joker list the cards as “No. 8527 “Floral Tea Carts.”
The deck includes 52 cards plus 2 jokers. The Ace of Spades has the “Made in the U.S.A.” listed on it with a “Whitman” in the middle of the Ace.

My neighbor has an old box of cards, with several decks that are seperated into four stacks of 13. the box contains I think 7 sleeves of cards, on the sleeve it says Paine Tray Playing Card Company, Cincinnati, Oh. would you be familiar with these?

    Thanks,
    Gary Owens
