david carlson

the calling inger wolfe

curious. i found a book cover that i wanted to feature here at david carlson’s site (click on the “books” link. the cover for “the calling” is in the top row, fourth from the left). the image was too small to use as the header for a post, so i went to amazon.com and found this. apparently, david much rather likes the red cover over the blue one, and so do i.

i do the same thing. i’ll put a concept on my portfolio site that the client did not choose, but that i think is better. i wonder, if i didn’t want the client to choose that concept, why did i show it to them in the first place? maybe the client just told david, “make it blue and rearrange these elements.” maybe david does like the blue one better and just didn’t put it on his site for some reason.

I have worked with many many many clients that have fairly specific ideas of what they want – I am just there to flesh it out and implement it. But in the end they want to rearrange/modify some elements, even though I try to convince them otherwise.

So I really thought that everyone did that no?
